Like a flower bud meeting the light of dawn
Rays of sun unfurl my layers, akin to petals
With nourishment that begs for a presence
That is total, unequivocal.
I sit perched on a hill near Kypseli.
To the west I see the source scattered
Over a wide swathe of sea, shimmering.
Children play football just below this precipice
A cat crosses the field, into the arms of a father.
To the east is humanity, colonized, boxed and sprawling.
An unrelenting outgrowth of life. Just trying to survive.
